Inspired by someone, Adapted from by Feel- Robbie Williams

ps: This is solely because I thought of someone and he loves this song. so pardon the really vague, really discontinuous verses.

I remember sitting down,
Singing, reciting my poems,
Talking about my dreams,
keen to know, if you found it interesting.

I'd walk with you,
To feel real love,
and trying to get enough,
but I realized I never can.

So many years have passed,
You're still a mystery.
I'm not sure I understand,
what you are,
but I know this much,
You've got too much life,
Running through your veins.

When I prayed for you,
God laughed at my plans,
But went ahead,
put you in there, forever.
Maybe not close enough to hold,
Not close enough to contact,
But enough to put a smile on my face.

What ever you told me,
I remember.
The first time we met,
It's etched, in my head.

and now, I still feel,
secure,
I feel calm,
I feel,
when I see you.

The truth is,
I just wanna feel real love,
and wanna contact the living,
So come and hold my hand,
To make me understand
This role I've been given.

Have you ever

Have you ever,
been so obligated,
That you live,
When you don't believe in existence?

Have you ever,
thought the wrong was right,
And you were blinded,
by what you see?

Have you ever,
been told lies,
that you're the chosen one,
and still be blamed?

Have you ever,
been so insecure,
like the life you lead,
was a forced horror dream?

Have you ever,
searched for her within you,
felt the pain sink in,
and still go on by?

Have you ever,
Have you ever?
been so obligated,
thought the wrong was right,
been told lies,
been so insecure,
and
felt the pain sink in?

And still go on by,
still go on by?

wish

If I ever say my wish out loud, will it come true?
If it does, here it goes,
My wish,
I wish for you.

How difficult is it?

When I was little, I was taught,
Nothing is never, not possible,

How could they be so wrong?

At each and every step,
I see you,
Does that mean,
my wish has come true?

I want more,
how do I wish for that?

They've taught me lies,
They've told me about magic.

Now it's time,
To teach me how,
To make my wishes come true.

If this is all I thought about,
How long do I need to wait,
To see the end of this dire strait?

If I ever say my wish out loud, will it come true?
If it does, here it goes,
My wish,
I wish for you.

Hush my baby, don’t you cry

“Hush my baby, don’t you cry,
I’m always there, by your side.”
You left without a goodbye,
So many lies, now where do I confide?

“You can sing, I can dance,
We’ll be the dream duo.”
I've lost my voice and you your stance,
I’m alone and to the dreams; I've bid adieu.

“Don’t go, I might not be here when you’re back,
I might have to leave and will have places to be.”
The only piece of truth I heard, but didn’t listen quite well,
When I came back, I saw you leave; but you didn’t see me.

"When I’m gone, look up to the sky,
I’ll be the brightest star to shine.”
I look up every day, the stars seem to have disappeared,
All I can see are bits and pieces, the blobs that remain.

“Hush my baby, don’t you cry,
I’m always there, by your side.”
How can I not sigh?
When all your promises have died?

Although I arrived in darkness, the light of truth has dawned on me.
I lied wide awake, with full conviction,
But I've come to see:
Reality, is just a piece of fiction.

One wish left

"It's time to speak up,
You have one wish left",
 Said the voice.

I could hear you say,
In a distant tone,
You want peace.

I walked up the stairs,
I already knew.
Yet, I cried.
I cried, all the way through.

It's not easy to forget,
It's not easy to give in.
But, we have to.
We can't always win.

But you can rewrite your story,
I can't write one for you.
Mine would be just a memory,
Yours would be the truth.

"It's time to speak up,
You have one wish left",
Said the voice.

Here, it goes,
One last time,
I have one wish left,
Would you like mine?

Summer shoes, something I wrote for the college journal.

Summer shoes.
By Shreya Viswanath, B.Sc. Electronic Media (1st year)

It’s always summer in Madras; yes I prefer calling it that. ’ Madras’, this name has the flavor of raw past memories, something none of us shed easily.  Madras is where I was born and a lot has changed since then. Inevitable as it is, change is the only thing that is constant. With each changing season, new memories are formed. Some that we cherish and the some we try and forget.
For most people memories are often associated with the monsoons.  The rich smell of the earth unearths our deep feelings and our memories, good and bad.  However, it’s always the summer that does the trick for me.  Every summer has taught me a valuable lesson, from victory, to failure, to be happy, to be sad, to enjoy the entry of a new life and even to grieve over a death. Every summer moved by so swiftly, that in order to keep up with life I started running. I was running for my life.
One day, while putting my shoes away, I took a moment for myself and saw them. They had started to give away.  That’s when I realized something; I was running, not to keep up with life but away from my fears.  I remembered something my father told me when I was younger, “the only thing to fear is fear itself”.  Over many summers I’ve changed. But, however inevitable change is, it’s based on our choices. You can always choose to change something. I decided to change.  To stop being chased by the fear of being rejected, the fear of loss, the fear of loneliness, the fear of not having enough, the fear. I saved up those shoes, put them away in a box and bought a new pair. I changed a pair of shoes that summer, when are you?

forever.

I can't stop loving you.
You'll always be a part of me.
I know you can't to,
But, this the world can't see.

I can't stop talking about you,
But sometimes, one question make me hush.
You know it hurts, piercing right through,
I try to be brave, but my tears gush.

One day, they'll throw it back at you,
They'll blame you.
They'll ask you,
They'll call upon you.

I won't, for
I can't stop loving you,
I can't stop talking about you,

I know you can't to,
But, this the world can't see.

I won't, for,
You're heart lies with me,
And that's how it shall always be.
